ABR cycle team is designed for cyclist

ABR Cycle Team is more than just another cycling club in Coventry and Warwickshire; you are part of a team of cyclists, a team that has one aim: improving your cycling abilities while encouraging other members to achieve their goals.

ABR Cycle Team is fun, engaging and rewarding, with our cyclist enjoying their journey throughout the year. Our riders enjoy taking part in cycle sportives, cycle road races, cycle time trials, and more. We'll help you on your journey, or you might be a social cyclist who enjoys cycling with a team.

We want you to get the most out of cycling.

The ABR cycle team is for all types of road cyclists, from racing cyclists to social riders.

Normal people achieving extraordinary things: With an unbridled love of cycling, the ABR cycle team includes a broad range of cycle riders from Coventry and Warwickshire. We have experienced cyclists in cycle race events and those who enjoy the more social side of cycling.

A serious amateur cyclist's life is no easy task, juggling full-time jobs, family and work with cycle training, cycle road races, cycle time trials and sportive events. It's this dedication that the ABR cycle team applauds, which is why the club focuses on supporting our riders throughout the season.

ABR Cycle Group Ride Structure

The structure of our club rides

Our Free Style, Development and Performance training rides are designed with the next cycle event in mind; they help you improve your ability and give you the confidence you need on the road. All our rides are group-focused, with everyone working as a team and supporting each other throughout the club journey. No rider is left behind on club rides, and we always ride at the slowest cyclist's pace. Structuring our rides this way ensures you're cycling training at the right intensity and progressing correctly, helping you develop your cycling abilities.

We have structured our club rides into 4 categories:

  • Performance -  Realising your potential training rides (set to the group's ability)
  • Development - Practising different cycling skill training rides, which include some harder sections, goal setting and cycle skill development training.
  • Free Style - Basic club style cycle ride, no structured training, just a group-paced ride with added fun by other members.
  • Breakfast - This is our relaxed cycle ride and will always include a cafe stop.
